Stephen G. Boyce, M.D. - Medical Director
With more than 25 years of experience in weight loss surgery, Dr. Boyce has performed thousands of bariatric surgery procedures. A native of Texas, he received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Texas A&M University in College Station. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed his surgical residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was introduced to weight loss surgery under the tutelage of one of the field’s pioneering fathers, Dr. Otto Wilbanks.
After his residency, Dr. Boyce moved to Knoxville to begin his medical practice in 1992. He has special training in advanced laparoscopic surgery as well as master certification in bariatric surgery. Due to his extensive training and experience, Dr. Boyce is qualified to offer approved bariatric procedures and is one of the most experienced weight loss surgeons in the region.

Mariah Beasley, M.D.
Mariah Beasley, M.D., is committed to providing advanced bariatric surgery procedures, personalized care and the tools to achieve long-term weight loss. A native of Alabama, she received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. Dr. Beasley also completed an internship and residency at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville. She is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive surgery/bariatric surgery. She completed her fellowship at Southwestern Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
Prior to joining Tennova in 2019, Dr. Beasley was affiliated with University Surgeons Associates and was an assistant professor in general surgery at The University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine in Knoxville.

Megan Johnson Lodeiro, M.D.
Megan Johnson Lodeiro, M.D., is committed to providing bariatric surgery procedures, personalized care and the tools to achieve long-term weight loss. She specializes in laparoscopic vertical sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, revision bariatric surgery and intra gastric balloon. Dr. Lodeiro also performs general surgery including laparoscopic hiatal hernia, ventral and incisional hernia, and laparoscopic and open colon, gallbladder and gastric surgery. She is trained in robotic and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Lodeiro moved to Knoxville after finishing medical school at University of Kentucky. She completed residency at University of Tennessee Medical Center where she trained in general surgery. She then pursued a fellowship in bariatric surgery in Atlanta.
