Orthopedic surgeon will see new patients at his office in West Knoxville
KNOXVILLE, TN (October 11, 2017) – Tennova Healthcare recently welcomed Ryan Mitchell, M.D., orthopedic surgeon, to the medical staff at Turkey Creek Medical Center. He is accepting new patients at his office at OrthoKnox, 10810 Parkside Drive, Suite 209, Knoxville.
Dr. Mitchell is experienced in a wide range of orthopedic procedures and techniques, including arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, and treatment of athletic injuries. Same-week appointments are available. For more information, call 1-855-TENNOVA (836-6682).
Dr. Mitchell earned his medical degree from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in Mobile, AL. He completed an orthopedic surgery residence at the University of South Alabama Health System in Mobile; and fellowship training in sports medicine at Sports Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Medicine (SOAR) in San Francisco.
He has special interest in sports medicine and treatment of a wide range of patients with diverse orthopedics needs, including young athletes, weekend warriors, professional athletes, active adults and seniors. His sports team coverage experience includes high school and college football, basketball, soccer and baseball teams in Alabama and California. A former collegiate baseball player, Dr. Mitchell looks forward to becoming involved in the sports medicine community in East Tennessee. He performs surgery at Turkey Creek Medical Center.
"I am passionate about the prevention and treatment of injuries related to sports and exercise,” Dr. Mitchell said. “This includes conservative treatments for sprains, strains and tendonitis as well as minimally invasive procedures for more complex conditions, such as rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and ACL, PCL and meniscus tear knee injuries. The ultimate goal is to reduce pain and increase functioning so that my patients can return to an active lifestyle.”
