Tennova Orthopedic - Turkey Creek Adds Innovative Surgeon to It’s Team

KNOXVILLE, TN (February 16, 2023) Tennova Orthopedics -Turkey Creek welcomes Dr. Daniel Benson as the third provider of an orthopedic team. Dr. Benson rounds out the talented, diverse, experienced and dedicated group of orthopedic surgeons that have joined Tennova Healthcare in pursuit of delivering high-quality orthopedic care to East Tennessee communities. Benson joins Dr. Jon Mark McNaughton and Dr. William L. Johnson, all board certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, at the offices located at 10800 Parkside Dr Suite 330, Knoxville, TN 37934.

Dr. Benson is originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and attended Georgetown College in Kentucky where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, and subsequent residency in orthopedic surgery at Kansas University Medical Center. Dr. Benson has special interests in the areas of total joint reconstruction, sports medicine, trauma and fracture care. His passion for education in the field of orthopedics is evident in his multiple presentations from the Future’s Symposium in Vienna, Austria, to the Peltier Orthopedic Lectureship in Kansas City, Kansas, among many others. His scientific publications range from fracture care to cement augmentation techniques and many others in between.
“I enjoy consistently educating myself so I may provide the best possible care for my patients and use this knowledge to offer the best available options for each of them based on their specific needs,” says Dr. Benson. “Building the Tennova Turkey Creek model with my new team is an exciting opportunity to utilize my experience to develop and implement care plans that have a firm foundation and are patient-focused.”
